Posted on: 1/04/2022Duke of EdinburghThis term, the Year 9 students have been taking part in weekly training in their teams in preparation for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition, which will be taking place in early May. This will include hiking, using a map, cooking their own dinner and overnight camping! A big thank you in advance to all staff who are assisting with all stages of this adventure for the students. Throughout the entire experience, our students have shown great respect to the volunteers and trainers provided by the Phoenix Project, a lot of whom are students from local schools or colleges who are completing their silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. It has been really lovely to see them in this environment, and all the teams should be very proud of the skills they have learnt, and their representation of the school in the community.
Posted on: 1/04/2022KS4 Drama - Life of PiOn the 16th March, Year 10 and Year 11 Drama students went on a brilliant trip to watch Life of Pi at The Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End. The show portrayed the mastery of puppeteering, astonishing lighting and projection and, of course, absolutely outstanding acting. My favourite moment was when Pi was saved from the Hyena by the Tiger, called Richard Parker, at the end of the first act. The tiger let out a deafening roar, shocking the entire theatre!
