School Day Consultation
The proposal is to change the end of the school day from 3:00pm to 3:10pm from Monday to Friday.
Should the changes be approved, they will come into effect from the new academic year when term begins on 5thSeptember 2025.
We are proposing this change to facilitate a number of changes to the structure of the school day. The reasons for this are:
• Lesson time will be increased and therefore learning will be maximised
• More flexibility in our curriculum offering
• Lunch and break times will be earlier, and so students will be able to manage their day more effectively
• It will ensure that finish times are staggered with the other two local secondary schools
We do not consider that this proposal would have a disproportionate or negative impact on those with protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
A letter has been sent to parents, staff, local schools, the local authority and transportation companies operating in the area. We will work together with all stakeholders so there is minimal disruption or negative impact should we proceedwith these changes.

This consultation will close at 3:00pm on Friday 16th May 2025. Once this consultation is complete the Board of Trustees will consider the proposal,and the outcome will be published on our website and communicated to parents.
